while looking for a fic to rewrite for

rewrite_a_fic, i found this bloody sword joseph x exorcist aesop in my files.
it's SO old that i didn't even realize english used quotation marks back then... and i wrote THE WHOLE THING using em dashes like we do in spanish.

Yet, defying reason, he stood in the laboratory once again. A foolish indulgence, a weakness he could neither justify nor deny.

“Welcome, Saphyr,” Luchino greeted, calm as ever.

No one needed to know how these visits stretched. If asked, he was merely fulfilling obligation. If questioned, the scholar was valuable to the family's business.

Luchino only waited, never demanded.

It wasn’t comfort what Noir sought, only a release from the burden of duty. And the warmth, simply incidental. Believing that lie, too, was foolish.

Luchino was pleased with himself.
Tonight, he’d picked up someone interesting. Buttoned shirt, neat hair, polite smile — a young man who didn’t belong in a place like that club. Maybe an office worker escaping routine? Trying to prove he could be reckless for once? Adorable. Luchino could help with that. Happily.

Two drinks to spark conversation; the rest was practically guaranteed. Nothing could ruin—

“The card declined.”

Luchino froze, confidence shattering. Slowly, he turned toward his companion, whose lips twitched in betrayal.

“…Should I pretend that didn’t happen?”

A small nod, clinging to whatever dignity remained. “Yes… I’d appreciate that.”

No vision could've prepared Eli for the moment he stepped willingly toward his damnation.

Exhaustion. Loneliness. Fear. They can push good men to do the unthinkable. And Luchino, persistent, had been circling him for days.
Guilt wasn’t strong enough to stop him. Not that night.

“So you've finally decided, hm?”

The mockery should’ve stung, but desperation left no room for pride. Only the selfish urge to choose for himself, even if it ruined him. If his mouth was the only way to silence it, if his body was the only way to forget what awaited him… then so be it.

“Dinner has been served.”

No answer. Eli stepped closer, listening for a breath, a shift, anything.

The unease creeping up his spine told him to walk away, but concern outweighed instinct.

“I’m coming in.”

The lamp’s glow cut into the dark. Luchino sat hunched at the bed’s edge: a turned back that flinched at the sudden light.

“…Everything’s fine?”

“Yes. Fine.”

But even in the dim, Eli caught the wrongness in Luchino's trembling silhouette. His heart dipped, yet he didn’t dare approach. Breath held, he placed the lamp down gently.

“I'll… leave this for you. Come when you feel able.”

canonically met each other, both part of the manor game 6-B.

i love all depictions of them, from the fluffliest nerds in love with a slow burn romance to doomed, tragic lovers to the most gruesome and unhealthy pair who'd ruin the others life <3 they are just so fun to play with !!
aside from the canon game, i have many skin pairings such as surveyor/emergency transport, poisonfeather/horrendous, spring heated wine/unyielding devotion, etc! all of them with their one stories--
aaaand i've created mutiple AU's, being my favorite one my library AU (the first fanfic i ever wrote!)
i switch them around, with some top/bottom preferences for certain pairings but nothing serious.

so yeah!! these are the guys many of my posts will be about. i've been trying to get more people into them and it has worked so far so! i won't stop talking about them in a long time.
